Basketball Jersey Manufacturing

A basketball jersey production order is controlled by the garment pattern, fabric and BOM sheet, artwork package and player roster. Bulk cutting starts after those records match the approved sample.

Stock Match 10 pcs
Made to Order 50 pcs
Sampling 7–12 days
Production 15–20 days

The Production Order

Four records stay attached to the same basketball jersey style throughout production.

Pattern Front body, back body, neckline, armholes, hem, side panels and graded sizes.
Fabric & BOM Main fabric, contrast fabric, trims, labels and decoration materials.
Artwork Team graphics, numbers, player names, logos, side graphics and approved colorway.
Roster Player name, number, garment size and quantity for every personalized jersey.

Basketball Jersey Pattern

The base-size pattern contains the front body, back body, neckline, armholes, bottom hem and any side panels used by the style.

V-neck and crew-neck jerseys use separate front openings and trim patterns. Contrast side panels remain separate cutting pieces. Neck and armhole bindings are separate components when specified.

Chest 1/2 finished chest width
Body length High shoulder point to finished hem
Shoulder Finished shoulder width
Front neck drop Center-front neckline depth
Back neck drop Center-back neckline depth
Armhole Finished armhole opening
Bottom opening Finished hem width

Fabric and BOM

Basketball jersey fabric is entered into production by composition, GSM, knit construction, color and finish.

A style using one mesh for the main body and another material for the side panels carries separate fabric articles in the BOM. The approved sample is made in the material released for bulk production.

  • Main body fabric
  • Side-panel fabric where used
  • Neck trim
  • Armhole trim
  • Second body layer for reversible jerseys
  • Labels
  • Twill or heat-transfer material
  • Sewing thread

Sublimated Jersey Production

Full-sublimation basketball jerseys are printed as garment panels before sewing.

The artwork package contains separate front, back and side-panel files built against the approved graded pattern. The front file carries the team name, front number, logos and front graphics. The back file carries the player name, back number and rear artwork.

Grading The approved jersey pattern is prepared in every ordered size.
Artwork placement Graphics are positioned inside the corresponding front, back and side panels.
Printing Team and player artwork is transferred to production polyester.
Cutting Printed panels are cut to the production outlines.
Sewing Matching front, back and side pieces are assembled into one jersey.

Player-Specific Production

Each roster row links a player name, player number, jersey size and quantity. That combination stays together through artwork, production and packing.

Sublimated names and numbers enter the player-specific print file. Heat-transfer and appliqué orders keep the same roster link through decoration and packing.

Reversible Basketball Jerseys

A reversible basketball jersey uses two complete body layers. Both faces carry the correct player identity before the neckline and armhole assembly joins the layers.

Side A

Primary colorway, front number, back number, player name, logos and team artwork.

Side B

Second colorway with the same player number, size assignment and approved team identity.

Names and Numbers

Front and back number positions are recorded separately. The artwork file carries finished number dimensions, center position, digit spacing and player-name position.

Player number being positioned on a jersey during heat application
Front number Finished width, height and center position
Back number Finished size and vertical position
Digit spacing Fixed inside the approved two-digit artwork
Player name Finished width and position from the back neckline

Two-digit numbers are approved as one complete graphic unit. Tackle-twill specifications also record appliqué layers, stitch construction and thread colors.

Neckline and Armholes

V-neck Trim is cut to the approved neckline and joined at the center front.
Crew neck The round opening receives its own trim length and finished neckline measurement.
Armholes Binding is cut against the finished armhole opening for each graded size.
Contrast trim Contrast and striped trims remain separate BOM components.

Matching Basketball Shorts

Basketball shorts are produced from their own pattern. Sublimated jersey-and-short sets can share the same team colorway while retaining separate patterns and artwork files.

Front and back views of custom basketball shorts
Waist Finished waistband measurement
Hip Finished hip width
Front rise Finished front rise
Back rise Finished back rise
Outseam Waistband to finished hem
Inseam Finished inseam length
Leg opening Finished opening width
Waistband Finished height and elastic specification

Size Grading

The approved basketball jersey block is graded into the ordered size range before player artwork is released. Chest, body length, shoulder, neckline, armhole, bottom opening and side-panel dimensions are assigned to every production size.

Neck and armhole trim lengths follow the graded openings. Player artwork is then matched to the player's confirmed size.
